I messed around with it this morning. It is so light/lite.
It flips very smoothly. At first I thought, what good
are these thumbstuds, then realized that they are the blade stop.
The width of the blade is nice. Blade was aligned just right.
The liner-lock covers the blade perfectly when opened.

Very sharp. Not D2 or SG2 sharp, but damn nice. 13C26 I'm sure.
The G10 is nice and grippy without being abrasive and the pocket clip is perfect.
I've cut a few things with it, cardboard and plastic.
It opens so smoothly. dang. Didn't I mention that already? :D
Clip is good, same as the ZT0301 clip. Nice and short.
Easy to clip. It came tip-down, which is the way I carry so I left it alone.
Sorry, no lefties but you can set it for tip-up.

Can hardly tell I have it in my pocket.
It's maybe 3/8" or so longer than a Leek.
I would like to also see something like this with maybe another 1/2"-1" in OA length. SKYLINE II ?? Guess I'll have to wait to see how this one sells first. ;)

Made in the USA. Don't know why I thought this thing was going to
be foreign made. Maybe because of the price.
At a retail of $50, street should be around $30?.
Great price for a nice USA knife.

I give this a big  for in-house design and materials.

And yes, I know, the thread is useless without pics......blah blah blah

I'm making a run to the knife shop tomorrow, might have to see if they've got one of these. I like the nice clean simple lines. And a good price for a US made knife!

how about some pics please! haha, j/k, thanks for the review though!

I have to agree with 2bros. The Skyline took a little break-in time and a little tufglide but it flips beautifuly, snugs up well in the hand, carries nicely and will make an all around nice EDC/beater. Another thing I thought this knife would be perfectly suited for is gifting. All the great Kershaw hallmarks at a nice price.... buy one for you and your (insert familial or casual acquaintance).

At first the lack of a liner on the non lock side worried me but Kershaw seems to have nailed the G10 thickness. The knife locks up rock solid and shows no signs of flex when light pressure is applied.

The only let down was that the blade was bead blasted instead of stonewashed, as was first reported, but that is a small price to pay for a 30 dollar, well made, all american knife.

Me thinks you fellas will like this one.

Hey guys,
Yes, the Skyline is a GREAT little blade. Spiral mentioned that at this price it would make a great beater/EDC, but I keep wanting to treat it more cautiously, since it feels like a much pricier knife!;) It really does. Fit and finish are excellent, the weight is incredible. Nice and sleek, it sits in the pocket very comfortably, and came VERY sharp with a KILLER lockup. Mine flipped like the dickens right out of the box. Got it to fire like an assisted on the second try and now it's first time, every time!! I'm as pleased as can be with this new model, and from what I understand, it was designed by our very own newest moderator, Tommy, so give him some Kudos when you get the chance.

Cheers,
Jonny the Button;)

fathead, ask and ye shall recieve!!

That's a lot of knife for $30.00

As for a Skyline II. Make it a full four inch blade, give it a Frame lock, and you'd have a budget Strider!

Thanks for the review. Any chance of anyone getting a comparison pic with a leek? I would appreciate it.

I'm diggin that one...will try to pick one up...hopefully a few dealers will have one at the local gun/knife show this weekend!

thanks Jonny!

I always get more out of seeing real life pictures than sterile white background ones.

Man, I don't think that lock-up on the skyline could possibly be more solid than it is!

ok, well it looks like i am getting at least 3 of these. one for slade, whom i already owe, one for myself (duh! :p), and one for one of my best friends who needs a knife to use for camping.

great review mike and spiral and jonny!

Wow johnny, 1 out of 500? How did you get the FIRST one? :p Better put that one up for safe keeping!

Yeah Jeremy,
You know how it goes with me. Always gettin' the number one knife!!;) You'd think I'd let somebody else have a chance at the 1st one after I've gotten it so many times, but I'm just a greedy bastid I guess.

I'll prolly get number one next time too, you just wait and I'll ost the pics!!:D

The Button Man always gets first crack!!!

Thanks! I love that polished g10 leek, wish I had one. How thick is it compared to the leek? (I mostly edc a leek) The skyline looks like a great knife for the money, I ordered one the other day and cant wait to get it.

Glad you posted a review on the Skyline, I was set to ask for one when I came on today. It looks like a good knife to have:
Simple, clean design, very pleasing to the eye( a departure from a lot of KAI's knives these days). I am sure it's very thin and know it's light, so it will be easy to carry. No AO, so the price in down there.
The course G10 looks great and am sure, grippy. I think the "spear point" blade is a great utility. I think I will get one.

Disappointed it doesn't have STONEWASHED blade as was advertised.:thumbdn::thumbdn: If I end up carring it a lot, I WILL do something to the finish.

Ordered 3 today...

one for me, one for my roommate, and one for my brother...

Anyone know if the ones at the Kershaw store will be "1 of 500"?
