Went to a local metro park for a short walk today. Not many birds yet, but the tadpoles and turtles were out enjoying the sun.

You can hike a ridge trail as well. The observation area has a nice view of the small ponds here.

nice pictures chuck. i'm suprised there are tadpoles that large already. i bet that would be a good place to go gig some frogs this summer if you are allowed. that scotch dispenser sure has a nice shine on the edge :D

Dude!!! That's a shitload of tadpoles!! You should have collected a few for bait, and gone fishing!
I miss Ohio a lot......DC sucks!!

It's a nature preserve, so not allowed to disturb anything. There were hundreds of those tadpoles. There is about 50 feet of shallows filled with them.
The turtles were cool. Had to use the digital zoom for that pic. Here is an unzoomed pic of the same scene.
