Another Stuart Branson creation --

Premium heavy black cowhide with black deerskin lining and full-frontal black stingray inset for a .32” thick Custom Shop black-paper-on-satin Sledgehammer. This is the good stuff--enjoy:

I realized after posting that second pic above that the knife was not all the way in and seated in the sheath--I was distracted and didn't notice at the time. Here's another fully seated under flash that shows how the stingray nubs reflect light--the skin looks wet even when dry:

And one final pic showing the back of the sheath--a little overexposed to show the detail of how Stuart brings the super-soft deerskin lining down the back side of the beltloop, giving it an integral look. The soft deerskin lining really protects the satin blade finish from scratches and adds cushioned "grip" that helps secure a heavy knife--professional all the way:

Stuart is also making some very fine knives these days--see posts 24 and 25 below for links.

Looks pretty nice Will top quality for sure. We're you been Will out hunting, have'nt seen you around in awhile.

Thanks for those compliments, Robin and Doug. I do seem to be on the forums a little less, lately--more lurking, less posting. Have gotten busy on a few projects.

beautiful Will! It suits the Hammer well:thumbup:

I agree in spades, KH--thanks for selling me the Hammer! :D

It's found a home fo' sho' .

Yeah, Stuart's work is getting better and better--now one of the preferred custom sheathmakers among high-end custom owners, if all the posts on the Custom forum are any indication. His special linings, inlays and texturing are amazing, not to mention his painstaking construction techniques. I'm blown away by his work.

Thanks, Oge and Peter. The knife was tracked down, purchased, and the sheath designed with the intention of making it a permanent carry in my favorite road car (which explains the stingray inlay):

Thanks for pulling it all together, my friend--awesome work. (I'd say "awesome work as usual", but there's nothing "usual" about your leatherwork.)

And thanks for the compliment on the picture. That was taken in Tony G's neck of the woods, on the Pacific Coast Highway north of San Francisco, Halloween 2008. The day had a misty, surreal character--perfectly ghoulish for Halloween, and the 'vette looked so at home in those surroundings that I was inspired to snap a picture before continuing north into the night.

Thanks to all for the nice words,
Will
