Sleeping In Tents

+1 for the hammock idea. I like you was nor fond of sleeping on the ground with no pillow. I got a Chrysalis hammock at the end of the summer last year. I only got two use it once but I was amazed at how well i slept. Cant wait to really try it out this season. There are lots of different brands and models out there, have fun checking them out.

Not much I can add here. I spent 10 years as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout troop. Did a lot of camping, mostly in mild weather (except for summer camp, which was usually hot as Hades), but I'm one of the weirdos who loved camping in the rain. It's all about being prepared, and I learned through more experienced scouters and from some trial and error what worked best. I found that a tent with superior ventilation, taped seams, a full rainfly, and a cot worked very well.
