Sleeping pads: inflatable or not?

Sleep pad? What's a sleep pad?

Use a bunch of pine boughs and some leaves, rake the leaves up with a stick, make a pile as long and wide as you need. Make it thick enough so that it is 4 fingers thick when compressed. Better insulation, a lot softer, will probably smell better. Definately cheaper. Don't have to worry about punctures. What's not to love?!

One, can't tear apart trees where I camp. Two, it would tear up my tent. Three, it would tear up my sleeping bag. ;)

Camp somewheres else, ya poo-see.... j/k :p

You don't camp in the same places Bear Grylls does do you? (Holiday Inn)

Just giving you shit, Statius. When the wife goes camping with me, we have to take a tent and an inflatable mattress. She don't like the ground and a-frame shelters. But atleast she'll go, so I'll take what I can get.

I'd say if it's a sleep pad you have to have, go with the solid one. No worries over punctures and you can make a bedroll with it.
