Another nice one, Gerry. Has 52100 become a favorite steel to work with?

Yes, after using 52100 steel in knives for myself while hunting, camping and in the kitchen I have become a real fan of the steel. Edge holding and cutability (is that a word?) are my criteria for a good work knife and 52100 fits that best for me. I will, however, use some other carbon steels for folks with different opinions than mine. Or course, my opinions are always the right ones :)
