Here is one I made on request from a fellow forumite. It is 1075 with african blackwood. He wanted 2 sheaths, one for in the pocket (leather) and one for the belt (kydex) Hope he likes the finished product.

derkins I think he'll love this knife, if he doesnt want it....well lets just say African Blackwood hits my sweet spot:D . That looks awesome man:thumbup: :D

Thanks,
I used the blackwood first just a few months ago, but I think I am hooked. It sands and buffs to a nice polish and doesnt seem to be affected by the weather.

Awesome,

I'll take it.

Oh wait, this is the wrong forum for that.

But I will take it.

Thanks
Nate

PS I've got a spot for African Blackwood also, it's on my hip.
I am still speechless about the hamon. It makes the knife look so much better than I had imagined it would.

Great knife, grabs me when I look at it.

What would a knife and sheath like that cost made by you please?

this one went for $115 with the extra sheath. It will be in the hands of thegreatnate soon. I am glad that you like them.

What are the blade and handle lengths please? And what type of steel do you have available?

I have big hands. What is the size of the bigger version also?

I have email you can email me if you like with answers, Thanks

Very nice piece,Matt. I like the blackwood also, just use caution as this is a species of rosewood and can cause allergic reactions. My dad is VERY allergic to it but it does'nt bother me [yet]. Use it and enjoy, just be careful!! It is beautiful wood!

blackwood and cocobolo make me sneeze if I get into contact with large amounts of dust. I wear a good respirator, and havent had a problem since.

If you have any health problems with the woods, please feel free to choose another wood when make the one for me. Let me know of any other wood good to use thanks?

SpearZ, most problems with reactions to certian woods is from the dust. Some woods contain a large amount of oils which are the main irritant and when you sand, you release these oils that adhear to the dust particals and as the dust lands on your skin, you absorb small amounts of these oils. Some peaple are affected, some are not, but the more care you take, the better off you are. You're very considerate to be open to alternative woods. When most peaple have a reaction, they are quite reluctant to use that wood again. I saw how it affected my dad, was'nt pretty! I still use rosewoods [4 kinds in stock] and just love it, but I'm VERY careful when I work it!! It's safe to use as long as you fully protect yourself. I even use rubber gloves when sanding it.

No problem.

Spearz, my most severe reaction has been a short fit of sneezing, and that was without a respirator. (I thought I could get by, cause I was only going to work for about a 1/2 hour).

I have used it several times since with a respirator, and no problems at all. Blackwood will be coming your way.

I just wanted to check, there is no use working with something that causes grief, we have lots of other options available. Sure go ahead with blackwood  if all is well!
