Slightly different doctor

The Ulster probably sold for around $5 to $10 when it was new, which isn't cheap if you consider that an 1123 Remington Bullet Trapper sold for $3 in the 1920s. $126 was the ballpark collector value for the knife in decent condition when the price guide was published.

Okay, that makes more sense. $126 in the early 20th century would be a few thousand today.

(Apologies to Elliott and Gus if I sidetracked thread.) :D

That's a beautiful knife. I'm loving the scalpel blade, and I think I could actually deal with a knife just having that style of blade.

My kids trust me with splinter removal than my wife. This says alot, because mommie is a comfort zone, and I am a crusty pirate. With any sharp blade (I find the pen blade best for stability) I can grab a splinter well with the blade perpendicular to the skin and raking it across the splinter, removing it effortlessly and painlessly for the tykes. This Doctor pattern would be perfect with the scalpel blade, since it is short, and easy to move deliberately.

Bill,

Congrats on your new doctor's knife. A very eye appealing version. The very nice stag on top of that cool scalpel blade!

Very nice indeed!

That scalpel does look handy, and also reminds me of a bigger blade i've seen recently, i believe in 'cotton sampler' knives...
