I ordered a Schatt & Morgan Slim Coke Bottle, knowing it was a fair sized knife, but when I got it I was floored! It's HUGE! Gigantic, making my 5" Texas Toothpick feel like, well, a toothpick. This is the first time ever that I've wondered what the exact use behind the design is. If you guys can help me out as to the thinking behind this brute. I must say that the fit and finish were perfect, as are the walk and talk and even the sharpness of the blades.

It's a beautiful, hefty piece (just a quick snap, sorry for crappy quality):

Or even a pocket machete:D

Very nice bone on that handle, usually I don't favour large knives but recently I've become obsessed by an S&M English Jack from the XVIII series. Can't sleep much, brooding constantly about it,you all know that feeling:eek: Anybody have one and or can post some pics?
Regards, W

that is awesome! do you have an in-hand picture? im looking into the older 041140 gunstock if i can find one. i really like the f&w series

Yeah, that's a helluva knife. I had an English Jack that looked very similar, and it was a great knife to have. The one you've got looks like it'd be more useful, in that it's got a smaller blade for most utility tasks, and a long one for food and big jobs.

I have often wondered the same thing, especially about granddaddy barlows; who has pockets big enough for such a big knife?

Don't matter, though; that's one beautiful S&M, regardless of what you do with it!

Is that a knife in your pocket :)

I have the English Jack. I believe it the speark point is the same as with this one but it has a long clip blade. They are very useful camping since the extra length makes them good cooking knives and the long flat blade will spread mayo. Steel is ATS34, takes a great edge, and the mirror polish holds up real good.

You would for certain project a image of high class, when you pull that out to filet a few trout or a mess of crappies.....or otherwise slice a nice big 'mater or melon at a picnic....My two GD Barlows just sit on a shelf....300Bucks

Of course, "back in the day", one needed "deep pockets" just to afford such a knife!;)

Sorry for the delay - yeah, it's a File & Wire, ATS 34 Mirror Polish Monster.

First rate pix thanks! That S&M is a juggernaut! The secondary blade alone looks bigger than the Swayback....what's the snap like?

Snap is just right, pretty "snappy" on the small blade, but the big blade isn't as harsh - which is good or else you could lose a limb! And the long pull is close to the pivot on the main blade, making "slips" less dangerous to the hand.
