I recently picked up a GM3 and love the size. Having been carrying mostly slipjoints for the past few years, I’ve been rethinking my previous love for larger knives. I pulled out a Large Inkosi at work the other day to open a box and felt like I was pulling out a sword. I love the 3.5” size knife, but I am moving more and more towards a desire for slim and smaller knives. I spend most of my days in an office and even when off work, it seems the thinner knives still never really let me down.

I am looking for recommendations that fall loosely into the following categories. What am I missing that's not listed below?

Important:
  • Size 3.25” blade or less.
  • Slim handle profile and blade stock
  • Clip

Prefer:
  • Premium blade steels like M390, though the more common S35 has never proven to me to be anything but great.
  • Like titanium handles, but things like G10 are not an issue.

Knives that fit this category already:
  • Giant Mouse GM3
  • CRK Mnandi / Inkosi
  • ZT 0450 (wish there were more ZT0450ZDP models around!)
  • BM 940* - compensated for being a bit longer by being slim and light.
  • BM Anthem

The Boker Exskelibur I with carbon fiber is a nice, slim office carry knife. Has a 3.5" blade though, but feels like a small knife compared to other 3.5" blade knives. Fits that in between for me where I want something larger than the Mnandi yet still gentlemanly and easy to carry. Has a very thin blade too so it slices better than most of my other knives.

Liong Mah GSD and Lanny. Enzo Birk. Benchmade 535.

Edit: the Liong Mah's might not be slim enough for what you're looking for.

Fox terzuola 525ti might be worth a look. I've been impressed with mine. Nice and slim.

Bout as slim as they get. Vaquero Ultralite, 5.25" oal with a 2" blade.

This was my own personal EDC for 3.5 years. Could be made out of any steel a guy's heart desired.

Spyderco chaparral is thin with nice thin blade stock and looks the part of office carry well with the CF/G10 scales and black deep carry wire clip. It's either the chap or a traditional GEC (usually a wood scaled trapper) when it comes to dressy carry for me.

They made a Sprint run Boker Urban Trapper in S35vn.
Thin, light, Black G10 slabs over Blue ano'd Ti liners, flipper, black clip (even though the pics show otherwise).

It's lower end (VG-10, ~$50) but if you want true slim you should check out the SOG Access Card 2.0 and its variants. I carried one for a year, it's invisible in the pocket and performs well with light tasks (never hard used it).

Protech Newport. I have one, awesome knife. Slim and light with S35VN. There are other really good small Protech's as well!
There are always William Henry knives too. I'm not a fan of ZDP-189, but mine has done well so far.
The Bradford guardian 3 flipper is pretty thin and light. M390 Steel with great egos, lockup, and action.
