Slim Pickin's - Not!!

Very nice collection Charlie! I really like the Ancient TC Barlow with that cross check pattern, another of Evan's fine bone work I understand?

The case muskrat appears to be in pretty good shape. Great poketworn red bone and full blades. Just needs some cleaning up and ready for work! I do love me some red bone handles, nice knife.

I was thinking that also, maybe sizings for jewels? Maybe they use some weird obscure jeweler's measurements.
Have you tried metric for the bits?

thats what we had thought at the dinner table, maybe a measurement tool for wire, or hoop sizes. but eventually we knew it was stone setting related. internet reception was really poor and i couldnt get a signal. did manage to send a picture to my father, but he wasnt able to respond to me.

You have a beautiful family, mqqn! It is especially sweet that they seem to appreciate a good pocket knife!!

Thanks for clarifying the carat gauge Jack. There must be a demand for a better GPS!!??!!

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting!!:)

No Problem Charlie, its probably more my response time. The GPS always says turn at 100 ft but its already at the exit so I cant just step on the breaks and turn off at the exit. Lyle actually called around the time I was about stuck in Jersey. Luckily soon somehow it turned into the Verazanno Bridge, which basically means I could connect to the belt parkway and get home. I stopped relying on the gps at that point.

..., Rendezvous (plural?)
No plural, this is the imperative mode of the verb se rendre (to go - rends-toi / rendons-nous / rendez-vous) that is used as an expression. Same applies for pied-à-terre or baise-en-ville. :)

All these knives are awesome and look pristine, and I have a soft spot for the "say it with flowers"!

Randy(R Redden) sent me an exact copy of the first Barlow you show , the Imperial with sawn covers. Slicey doesn't cover it-though maybe that's because I haven't tried to sharpen it yet(heh heh). Lovely gifts and some brilliant antique finds! Keep the pics coming, the close-ups are particularly nice-so much detail lost to the naked eye, or lens as the case may be 👀 🙂
Thanks, Neal

Mine was a gift from R8shell after I was given what just turned out to be a Chinese copy.
They were and still are very inexpensive, but that doesn't make the imperial jackmaster Barlow any less of a knife. They've got it where it counts and are a great user , there just not show queens.

I suggest taking 5 min to give it a razor edge, then drop it in your pocket and find out for yourself 👍
