Hey all. I am paralyzed and like to carry under my black wheelchair seat. Currently I use a black sog cash card, it’s thin but it’s not very substantial & I question its use factor. I was looking for suggestions for a slim edc or black knife (so it blends in) that I can safely deep carry belt clip to underside of my seat… locking folder with one hand opening preferred… suggestions?

Thank you. Folding and locking preferred, one hand opening makes it much easier for me.

Shot in the dark here.

This is a nasty little bugger. Could remove the glass breaker/lanyard hole and clip easily.

Obviously fast deployment and concealment. Extra wide and extra slicey double sided blade. Decent prices on the secondary and popular in black.

Button is stiff to protect against accidental deployment. Nothinh crazy, can be pro or con.

Honestly I'd rather tangle on the wrong end of a longer blade than this short/wide one, thin and shaped like it is. I imagine it would really make a mess.

Benchmade Barrage is assisted opening. One hand close too. Axis lock. I've had one for a long time. Like it a lot. Zero problems.

I like the civivi vision anyway. Just a good edc knife.. Comes in black on black, solid lock, easy to open and close one handed,, deep pocket carry and is pretty thin and wide

The only complaint people tend to have is the clip has this kind of weird big scoop on the front of the clip. Which for a seat might actually be better.

If you are ok with a spydie-hole …. Due to opening method, most Spydercos are pretty thin, and they have lots of >= 4“ blades. AFAIK, the Stretch 2XL is the thinnest, great knife.

Comes in black, too.

I like the CRKT Ripple, very slim, lightweight and fast opening, liner-lock is secure. The GEC 15 right, is not applicable, tough enough to open two handed and very old school in a great way.

OP, unless you plan to spend a lot of time drawing and opening under simulated stress (with a training partner or something like a shot timer app on your phone), I'd strongly recommend a fixed blade for faster and more reliable deployment. Even if you go with a fixed blade, I'd still recommend training under simulated adrenal stress, which will increase gross motor strength but decrease fine motor dexterity.

Mods, this probably oughtta be in PracTac.

cold steel fm1 atlas in black worth a look. it's fairly thin. has very strong lock and one handed open and close.

Yep, I have a suggestion….a Sencut Watauga. And if you think it’ll work for you just let me know ‘cause I have an extra NIB one I’d be happy to send along. If you’re interested, just PM me with ship-to info and I’ll send it out Monday. No charge, happy to be of assistance.

For thin folders it's hard to beat Spyderco knives with the FRN handle material. The Spyderco Endura is thinner than most folders with plenty of size. The Endela just slightly smaller still with the thin profile, and the Delica smaller yet and nice and thin. Spyderco just recently released them in PD1 steel which is basically Cruwear so very good toughness with good edge holding, not stainless but very resistant, and the new releases have black coated blades for even more stain resistance. They also come in some other steels if you prefer. The dark plum scales aren't my favorite, but they can be dyed black easy enough if so desired.
