I've been busy with commissions, so I'm not getting to post here for sale as much as I'd like. I figured I'd try to do something really nice for my next listing.

I feel this is my best work to date. I spent probably an entire extra shop day on this knife. I hadn't initially planned on using this handle style, but I love it, and it just seemed like the right thing for the knife.

My idea here was a slim hunter that was light and nimble in the hand, but large enough for a person with larger hands to use comfortably.

The Hawaiian Silky Oak is just stunning. I got the wood from Mark at Burl Source, and he really knocked it out of the park on this stuff. I just keep going back out into the shop and staring at it, I think the knife is trying to hypnotize me.

edit: Oh, and this is the first knife of mine that has "bit" me. You can see the evidence in pictures 5 and 6.

S35VN @62 w/Cryo, hollow ground on 10" wheel
Hawaiian Silky Oak stabilized by K&G
416SS fittings, 1/8" pin
G10 liners
4.5" edge length, 4.875" from guard
OAL 10.1", Blade thickness .145"
Weight 4.4oz

I'd like to get sold for this one. I try to keep my price down to help keep my knives in the range of users, but I put a lot of work into this one so I had to go a bit higher than I normally do.

Boy is that clean. Couldn't ask for anything stronger than stabilized oak! A lot of time went into this one, A+++

Wow! Never seen oak look that good, and the whole knife looks outstanding.

Thanks!

The Silky Oak is from Hawaii, from what I understand it is the same family but different species (I'm no expert so I may be wrong). With how nice their Koa looks, it's no surprise the oak is the same. Hawaii seems to be really good at growing beautiful woods. :)

Bob, I thought the Oak was a great match for this slim hunter. I wanted this knife built to use. I took extra care with the tip and grind geometry as well.
