Slim Selects

What bucksway bucksway said. I was asleep at the wheel on these.
This turned out to be a pretty intesting thread.
My observation of how eBay works is now we will now see an uptick in these offered at non hobbiest prices

If I miss out buying directly from Buck..I just miss. I put knives like these on a "buy if a bargain" mental list if I see them. But finding all the different colors available in a relatively inexpensive Buck including some that will be a real challenge could be fun..

The 110 is a web exclusive that I got at the same time as the lavender and teal 112s. Shown with a blaze orange 112.

I can't recall what Buck called the color. That's a nice thing about Case - they usually put the color on the box label. Here's the label for the 110. I'm guessing the "O" stands for "orange", but have no clue what "RS-B" means 🤔

I don't recall a light blue, but I could see where some would call the teal a light blue.

There was also a black variation of the 110 with a drop point that c&c had.

st8yd st8yd In post #3 P plb lists 2 blues and a teal, clearly Buck considers them color family related.
Teal *BLS1
Blue *BLS2
Light Blue *BLS3

Me thinks it's OR for orange, S for slim. I'm not sure about the B.
Preston. Buck model codes follow a format. Not all may be used, The first three and last for sure.

Model# / color / blade / dealer (if SFO) / variation # ---packaging

family color group ..BR RD BK BL brown, red black blue etc BR used for cocobolo etc.
look at my post above for 3 different blues.... BLS1 BLS2 BLS3

Blade S=smooth X= serrated

SFO SM smoky mtn /WM walmart /CC copper clad /BO build out etc (optional field)

variation number lets say C&C had 2 different red 119's phenolic smooth and micarta serrated (made up example) (optional field)
0119RDSCC red smooth blade for C&C
0119RDXCC1 red serrated blade for C&C, 1 designates it is the 2nd different red knife

---B boxed
---C clam pack

Clear as mud? It actually makes alot of sense once you get the hang of it. All will have a uniquely different catalog number, the only true identifier.

Thanks guys. So it looks like the 110 is an orange1 and the blaze orange is an orange2. I thought they had a name for it, but maybe not. In any event its not as orange as the blaze.

"B" is for box. Of course :D

Thanks Roger...I know I won't remember so I'm making a notebook;)

I just found this chart I made back in the day. In the third row you will see "?" around each color and that is due to Buck not giving those Web Exclusive knives an actual color name on the website. First I have seen them do that.

Thanks for this. I see the purple was called violet. I had lavender stuck in my brain. And the pale orange is burnt orange
