I have been making recurves so often, but they all seemed to me to be too stocky at the tip. This is a slimmer tipped recurve, and in my opinion, more elegant.

The steel is 1095 with a clay coated hamon.
Blade length - 5 1/8th
OAL - 10"

The handle is Ifilele (samoan ironwood) I ebonized it, and then sanded it with 800 grit for an aged look. I like the results.

Sheath is veggie tanned leather with a beeswax finish for stiffness and weather resistance. It also has a belt/boot clip.

Yes, It is not sharpened. I dont usually make sharpened upper edges unless it is specifically ordered. It is kind of a no-no here in NY.

Of course, having said that, I have one for which I am making a sheath that has a sharpened upper edge, and was not an order. I usually dont, though.

Like that one too Matt, the sheath style is great, makes it ride low as i like.
