Sling Shot Assistance Needed

Would like to become more proficient with a sling shot, but trying to figure out which is the best to learn with - that I can keep in my pack etc.

What I am after needs to be Small/Compact and pack a mean punch - I am thinking that I should skip the kind I used as a kid, since potential for the rubber bands/tubes breaking, and go with a traditional middle eastern sling - worked well for David right ?:), and I don't run the risk of it falling apart (as easily) + I am thinking that if I do indeed get off my tail and actually practice with it & I get into a survival situation - one could be made relatively easily out of a shirt sleeve for example  maybe I am reaching there - but you get the point.

I saw a post a while back where someone had made one out of para-cord - that was really cool, and am wondering if anyone can post pics again, with a link for instructions/dimensions to make one?

I am as broke as a celebrity marriage right now, so will have to make my own.

Thanks,

sp

Is this what you were thinking?

By the way, I just made the one I posted above earlier today. Works excellently for slinging snowballs!

For slinging rocks and the like that aren't smooth, you'll want to use a pouch made from leather or another tough material. Otherwise, the paracord will abrade pretty quickly.

here paracord slings can also double as a baldric for your knife!

two for one deal :D
