Saw a pretty cool idea the other day, sure it's been done before, but I had not seen it. My buddy had included in his altoids tin a couple of those extra long thicker rubberbands. This is enough for 2 slingshots as you only need one to make one. Also included a piece of leather 1" x 2" with a couple of holes punched at the ends. He also had 2 pieces of telephone wire about a foot long apiece tightly wound up that would serve to attach the rubber bands to your "Y" piece of wood for your slingshot.

He advises not to wrap your altoids tin with the rubber band as it will eventually develop little nicks in the rubber which will cause it to break easier.

Run the rubber band through the band through the holes on the leather piece and connect it to your stick by wrapping it with your phone wire. You don't cut the rubber band.

Tried making one and it worked pretty well. Need to practice making another and find a way so that when you draw it back, the wood doesn't cut into the rubber band, need to round it off even more I guess.

With a little practice you can get reasonably accurate and nail a bird or other small game to eat.
