I have a project I'm working on and was wondering if somebody could tell me if these are worth pursuing. thanks. To clarify I'm going to do some prototyping soon and take this to a semi production level, maybe around 200 knives.

I'm not one to be critiquing, but I'm in the middle of building my 4th slipjoint.
Now this one I drew out my on plans, where as before I was going of plans that have worked for years.

The last drawing the spring pivot is way to close.
I'm only going by trial and error when I say that... Geometry I have found has everything to do with it.

The first one seems like it would work mechanically but I feel the spring is going to be way to thin.
I believe the tang is to big.
These are the opinions of a builder only in his 4th build of these.
Good luck on your work.

Taximanny- Thanks for your input. I've only made a couple myself as well and it's hard to get it right(the geometry) with a drawing as opposed to a CAD program. I've been using a compass to get references of different points and make intersections to make sure it will be somewhat close. Also with the spring pivot you can thin it out a little in the middle to make it more flexible if it too close, or I could just move it back .

Just thinning the spring when the spring pivot is already to close = the spring bending rather than springing.
I just spent half my day fighting a spring that the pivot on was to close.... I ended up moving it back and now it works like it should.
Here is my crude drawings I went off of.
I'm building the top one now.
Got everything assembled and working correctly and still need to file the blade.
