Hello, I would like to show you my fifth slipjoint. I started this project with grand intentions of making a batch of four back in February. Then life and my job sortof got in the way and I am lucky to have completed one. This is my best work by far in my short time as a hobby knifemaker. I have had some help along the way that I am very greatful for. This is my third version of my attempt to marry a seahorse whittler blade with a Tony Bose/Case Gardeners knife. Enough ranting. This knife is not available....

Some specs:
3-7/8" closed
154cm blade and spring finished to 3000 grit
ebony scales finished to 3000 grit then hand rubbed
3/16" pivot bushing
milled liners
nickel silver liners and bolsters, soldered

Here are some pics. The first pic shows my first slipjoint. It looks nice but did not work very well. That knife pushed me hard to learn this game. Sorry for the grubby fingernails. Wet sanding ebony for hours will do that....

Thank you,

That looks really well done, must have been time consuming.

Did you have any particular reasons for making that pattern? I don't think I've seen such a knife before.

I really like the design and execution!! I predict these will sell like hot cakes:thumbup:

Wow that turned out very nice! I really like how we get to see the 1st one next to your 5th. Really shows the difference and improvements you have made!

It was very time consuming because of all the stopping and starting involved. I knew that it would take time to make it as perfect as possible. Regarding the pattern... I had a Bose/Case Gardener's knife that I really liked and I have always had a soft spot for the Seahorse whittler. I just thought I would try to combine and make it work. My next few knives will be of tried and true patterns though. I can't wait to start the next one.
Thank you for the nice comments.

Thank you!! That is why I will never get rid of that first one. It is good to know where you started.
