Slipjoint stainless spring

Which stainless material makes the best springs for slipjoints? I read somewhere that Tony Bose uses different materials for the blade and spring. I have used 440, CPM 154, D2, CPM D2, and most of the high carbon non stainless steels. Does anyone know if, for example, CPM 154 makes the best spring or....as long as the heat treat is correct they are all pretty much equal? Thanks

I've used CPM154 and ATS34 for slipjoint springs. They both work fine

Ditto on the ATS34, 440c is considered a spring steel, but all are fine with the proper HT.
