While I wait till a die roll will determine the winners for my giveaway, I wanted to start another thread about something I'm curious to know.
So we all carry a slipjoint/traditional pocket knife (or more than one).
What other tools/things do you carry in your pockets daily?
Of course I'm not talking about your keys, wallet, cellphone. Just tools.
Some time ago I remember reading Carl's posts about the usefulness of a bandana, a 4 way Sears screwdriver (never seen one myself), a P-38 (never seen one either), and someone else's comment on carrying a small prybar (never seen one either... :D ).
Then of course I know many people here carry a lighter, or a flashlight.
What do you carry daily in your pockets, along with your favourite (for that day) traditional pocket knife?
Personally, I carry a bandana, a small flashlight on my keys, and (at least in winter, and despite the fact that I don't smoke) a lighter (a Zippo or, more often, a Bic lighter in a metal "case" that I found abandoned in a London bus stop :) ).
What about you? what are the best friends that your slipjoints hangs out with?

I always carry a small flashlight on my keychain, and I have a 4-way Sears screwdriver in my wallet. Truth be told, I've never used the 4-way yet, but it's so tiny and light, there's really no reason not to carry it. I also carry a Victorinox Rambler on my key ring, which provides ...... well, this stuff:

I carry a bandana in my back pocket, a Maratac AAA light on my keyring, and a Leatherman Micra in the same pocket as my slippie of the day. That little Micra is the most useful thing I've ever purchased.

Aside from my afor mentioned 4-way keychain screwdriver and P-38, both of which are in a zip compartment of my wallet, I find a small pocket flashlight (Fenix EO1 for the last few months) to be almost indespensible. I use this thing every day, (or night) for seeing in dark basement shelves, back of closets, under car seats, and at night for taking the corgi on her last walk of the night.

A tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, Bic lighter to get my pipe going, a three way pipe tool with reamer, tamper and scraper tools, two bandana's, tobacco pouch, stub of a golf pencil for taking notes or using for a supply of graphite which is great dry lube. Plus a pencil will write on anything and doesn't go dry or leak in pocket.

Of course, my Victorinox classic is always in a keyring sheath, and my peanut in my right hand pocket with cell phone.

Always a SAK Ranger in my pocket. All the oter items are in my rucksack (wich is never far to me).

There's a tiny but potent flashlight on my keyring, along with a little signal whistle. The flashlight is very handy. Also there's always a bandanna, a mini pry bar, a Victorinox multitool and a little first aid kit in my school bag. It's always nice to have the right tool when it's needed, and most of the gear I haul around has come in handy more than once.

Thanks for the replies. Actually, I was curious to know what you carry in your pockets, since a handbag/pack would open a wider range of things.
The signal whistle is something I wasn't expecting...at least not as a "standard" pocket carry.
The golf pencil sounds good, and at the same time weird, since I never thought of carrying one. It does make sense, though.
Little question for Carl...do you carry two bandanas to keep one for "clean" jobs and the other for "dirty" tasks?

Since bandana's are so cheap, I consider them to be disposable in an emergency. So if I have a real dirty job, I just may use one bandana and just trash it, and still have one in reserve. They roll up so compact and light weight, it's almost a question of why not carry two?

A small Skunklights torch (flashlight) in my coat pocket, this is tiny and solar powered yet emits a decent beam. No battery worries either and like the SAK, another Swiss wonder. You can wear it on the outside of your clothes in daylight to charge it, marvel.

Just a bandana and in the other pocket a modern one hand folder of some kind in the other. If I have cargo pants or jeans on I carry a Vic. Super Tinker, other wise a Gerber or Leatherman tool on the belt. I'm a huge fan of Surefire so there is one of those on me, to go with an auto or sixgun.

The prybar gets used mostly on my gas tank door that has a broken release mechanism. The little light is a awesome and gets daily use.

It is very rare that I have anything other than knives and paper $ directly in my pockets. I carry my wallet in my jacket pocket and my keychain is sufficiently bulky that I normally just carry it in my hand when I need it for something. At least for me, there is something to be said for being able to reach into your pocket and pull out a pocket knife without enduring the minor headache of shuffling a bunch of other things around.

On my keyring, I just have my truck key, house key, and bike lock key. I also have a Vic classic and Photon freedom micro light. I have a spark plug gap tool on my "big" keychain, another VIC, and a few lights that need new batteries. I have a magnifying glass card in my wallet. I have a Leatherman Wave in my bag, and a couple el cheapo SAK and multitool clones rolling around in the truck. I am going to replace the el cheapo tool kit in my truck too. I usually have some hand sanitizer floating around in the truck, as well as a small fire kit that I can easily transfer from my bag to the pocket if needed. I've found that an Otter box with all my junk in it is too easy to put in the pocket when I go for a hike, less likelihood for me to forget.

Good thread! I used to carry a nice 2" ITP A1 EOS flashlight on my key ring but it was just too big and heavy. I also had a vic classic on there with it but I gave it away to a friend one day. Now I carry a Gerber Curve and thats small and light and has a phillips drive that I like to have handy.

This link ought to help you out about tools carried on keyrings along side traditional knives.

The 1940's and 50's were the age of keychain tools and gadgets. Not just round 4-way screwdrivers and surplus P-38's, but all kinds of stuff. Keychain magnifing glass, keychain nail clippers that were used as screw drivers, wire cutters, fishline nippers, and whatever your imagination could come up with. There were keychain mechanical pencils, tiny flashlights. It seemed most of the men I grew up around, had enough stuff on their collective keychains, they could have saved the Titanic.:D

In addition to the small Old Timer stockman, I carry a Spyderco bug on my keychain, as well as a climber's carabiner, and a handkerchief in my back pocket. Since I'm still in school, I also wear a bottle-opener belt buckle. Yeah, it may sound cheesy, but this one actually is very discreet, and has an engraving of MY arabian mare on it!

I carry a bottle opener on my key ring and a small pocket flashlight. Lately it's been an Olight i1 EOS. I used to have a P-38 on the key ring too, but got tired of it coming open and stabbing me in the hand whenever I reached in my pocket. That was on top of the fact that it rarely got used.
