Slipping on ice

Ive used Yak Trax every winter for the past 5 years on the ambulance. Carrying people up icy stairs, working wrecks on icy roads, and also off duty(some buddies and I play hockey on frozen ponds with em:D). The are great. Easy on and off, and have great traction. Also had the same pair for 5 years, so I guess their pretty durable. However, more importantly, I havent slipped on the ice, ever, while I have had them on.

Now everyone in my house has some.

It always worked on my waders so I thought I would try it on an old pair of boots. I cut a piece of rough felt to match the sole and glued it on. It worked great. The only problem was if it was wet and sloppy, the felt would eventually saturate and freeze. No problem, bang em a few times and the ice broke up or just let them thaw.
