I'm trying to redo a knife in leather and the slot i need for the tang is 7/32 x 3/4 long , so does anyone know of a oblong punch this size?
or How do you do this slot without taking the round hole punch and punching a lot of holes?

Go to tandy leather and get a punch for Belt buckles slots, they are around that size.

I take it that you're re-doing a stacked leather handle.
I make the slots in the leather washers for these by punching a hole at each end of where I want the slot, then I make the cuts for the straight sides of the slot with a push cut with a sharp chisel. Cutting the sides of the slot with a knife you always stand a small chance of over-running and cutting into the back of the punch hole, using a chisel to push down through the leather means there is no chance of this happening.
