Slowing down

Is it just me or is anyone else being slowed down by a bigboards.com? I am wondering if I somehow got something on my end or if it is something on the fourm end.

It sound like you have picked up some adware. I've never even heard of bigboards.com.

i googled bigboards and i wont go there to find out anymore. looks like a place to possibly get something nasty on your pc.

Having something nasty is what I was worried about. I only see it briefly though while on BFC and not on any other forums.

I have been having the same kind of problems. Norton said that everything was fine, so I tried some of the online scanners. They show all kinds of problems, adware, trojans, etc. Every scanner seems to show something different and the catch is that you have to buy their software to fix the problem. I am beginning to suspect that some of these software companies a infecting my computer so that I will buy their products.

I haven't done anything not even clear my cookies and it seems to be gone. The forum is running faster now too. Wierd.

Mine has been doing the same thing. You might try one of the online scanners and see what it picks up. I just ran BitDefender. It's free. It claims to have found 3 trojans and 4 adware which it deleted. I seem to be running better, but I'll have to wait a few days to see how it's going.

A combination of Norton Antivirus, Ad Aware SE and Spybot Search and Destroy works pretty well for cleaning all the unwanted stuff out. It seems that each will catch things the others miss.
