Slysz Bowie: Impressions, Comparisons, and Review

...Put differently, I recently handled a few CRKs, and you could easily convince me this was made by Chris Reeves et al. Well done, Taichung...

I am sure it is a great well made knife. But just from the pictures you can instantly tell it is not a CRK made folder. For example the ti-lock is not designed by CRK, but you can tell it's made by them. However, the Slysz Bowie is in a lower price bracket than CRK folders :)

Awesome input on the knife, especially with the amount of pictures posted-greatly appreciated. Was on the fence, this just put me over it, will order it now! Thanks blade man!

Just got mine a few days ago, broke into edc rotation and I'm enjoying it. Only thing is lockup is at around 60% out of the box. Well, that and I can't flick open from the lock side with middle finger- not enough access to Spydie hole. I'll live with it cause other than that, Spyderco knocked this out of the park! Feels great in the hand and a crazy slicer.

Appreciate the little touches like the rounded spine, smooth jimping, and the attention to the backspaces in particular how it terminates towards the front of the blade, flush with the top of the ti frame- really like the lines of this design!

Thanks Spyderco!

I find it a bit disappointing that perhaps one of the most expensive Spyderco non-sprint folders ever comes with a RIL that doesn't come with a steel insert on the end of the lock for improved lock longevity.

I think the face is treated like on the Techno, Southard and Sebenzas. I'm not worried, but I'll send an e-mail to Sal or Gail if I see it being a problem ;)

Wow great review and awesome pictures. This knife was off my radar until I saw this. It has some really nice details to it.

Yep, mine has stayed put as well and it's been my edc since I got it, love the feel of the smooth contour ti scales. I'm still in love with all the little attention to details about this knife and did I mention that I love the lines of this knife-man, it's a beauty to behold! I enjoy using it more everyday!

Dirty Bowie...

Mine is also 50-60% and hasn't moved since I got it.
