Hi all,
I'm looking to get a pilot survival knife made close to original Camillus / Marble pilot knife specs, but with the following modifications. I'm not terribly knowledgeable with knives, but I'm very open to suggestions to changes, as well as working with you to make sure we're on the same page.
- Steel and General Specs
> SM100 PM at 65 RC
> Cryo HT
> 5.25" blade
> .19" thickness instead of .17"
> Slightly concave clip point
- Fuller
> Trough shape with rounded left & right edges (like attached sink trough below)
- Upper edge
> Serrated edge base tapers from .19" to .15" at tip (.02" taper on each side)
> Jimping, then small flat spacing, then serrated edge, then convex taper to blunt nose
- Bolster
> SM100 PM
> Single piece, begins at end of handle to finger guard
> No upper finger guard, flush with bolster surface all around
> Wood to SM100 smooth transition, then SM100 concave curve up to finger guard
* Symmetrical to curve seen on pommel (described below)
- Handle
> Black rivets seen through indents
> Stabilized desert ironwood handle with charred black indents
> Downward angle towards blade on first wood section
* *> Full tang, not stick tang - tang visbile through the handle's indents
* Tang not visible on pommel, but goes through pommel
- Pommel
> SM100
> Concave transition to pommel like on the Marble pilot survival knife (attached image below)
> Rounded edge pommel and not hexagonal, and with knurling w/o the flat edge like on Marble knife
Please let me know!
