I copied this knife's profile from a Blade article, which showed a full sized pic(my blade is 1/2"shorter), of a Bowie presented to a Cherokee Chief in 1849. This is my version in more modern materials. It's also in a much more handy carry size than the large bowies, making it more useful for everyday carry(my opinion here). Blade is 5 1/2" long x 1 1/4"wide and flatground from cryo HT'd 1/8" 154CM with a lot of distal taper and a hand rubbed mirror polish. The idea here was to create a thin ground cutting vs chopping knife. Overall length is 10 1/4" and Rockwell C is around 60. D'Holder did the HT. Bolster is copper with two N/S pins. Handle is cocobolo with both 1/4" copper/brass Mosaic Pins and 9 copper pins. Has red/black spacers and red liners. It balances at the first two copper pins. Weight is just 6 oz, so it's a fast knife. Sheath is 6/7 oz wet formed, vegetable tanned leather, hand stitched and treated with SNO-seal. A nice carry knife in a traditional design with modern materials. Price is $145.00 Check/MO, or $148.00 PayPal( sorry....their fees are killing me). Postage is $4.00 in Conus. I'm at joelcb@pennswoods.net...SOLD.
