Small axes in NYC?

Hi, everyone.

I am wondering if it is legal to carry small axes in NYC?

3.5" blade width
11" total

It would be clipped to my belt and pretty much concealed.

Clipped to your belt, walking around the city? I don't know about the legality, but the police would definitely give you a hard time if they saw it.
 
I had the same question, but for use while hunting and camping. I would NOT carry an axe unless it is in your trunk and you are on your way hunting or camping/hiking, or use it for work.

I do not think that a LEO would view this any differently than a knife.
