Small Bit of News: Demko Considering a Midtech Scorpion

I'm a big fan of new and useful knife mechanisms. So I'm obviously a fan of Andrew Demko who developed the Triad Lock. He recently debuted (last year) a new back lock variant called the Scorpion Lock on his AD-15 custom. It retailed for around a grand, which is about double what I usually pay for my most expensive knives.

Anyway, I emailed him him the other day asking him to do a mid-tech Scorpion Lock and he responded, "I may do that soon." A little vague, for sure, but still something to look forward to.

Hopefully it happens.

That would be awesome! I'd love to see this come to fruition. A more afordable knife that utilizes the Scorpion lock sounds perfect. I love Demkos designs, but just not willing to spend what they command for a true custom.

His custom version starts at $600(midtech price) so im excited to see how much the "midtech" version would cost. According to Mr Demko, the Scorpion lock is supposed to be easier to manufacture than the Triad lock, so hopefully this will drive down the cost a bit.

Hmmm... This would be a great "survival folder" to keep in various bags and kits.
