I much prefer the nail file, though I rarely use the file portion, I love the thinner tapered tip for cleaning the engine grease from under my nails (I use the awl for the same thing when carrying a model without a file), it also fits small Phillips head screws and is great for tasks you wouldn’t want to bugger your sharp edge doing.

I find the small blade redundant and it rarely get used, feels odd to use it actually, whereas the file brings multiple different uses to the table while taking up the same space. I wish Vic would offer a spartan or tinker with the file.

They have a Sportsman model which is basically an 84mm Spartan with a file.
