Hi All,
Finished this Boot Knife last night made from 3/16ths O-1 to a RC of 58-59. Hollow ground with a total length 6 5/8 inches, height is just less than 1 inch, and the actual cutting edges are 2 5/8 inches long. The scales are made from spalted Eastern Apple and finished with 2 1/8 inch Brass pins. During the final polishing some of the softest part of the spalting came away from the scales near the edge as seen in the images. In the future I think I will be using the 5 inch wheel instead of the 10 inch wheel to grind this type of knife. Its to hard to keep the lines of the grind perfect, again as seen in the images. That being said its still a real nice knife takes the hair off my arm and is only ½ inch thick to fit in your boot or conceal perhaps as a neck knife. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Price shipped to the lower 48 $45.00 plus another $10 for a neck sheath or $12 for a belt sheath.
Thanks for looking, Ken
