Hi all, looking for a small blade to compliment my NMFBM, but not having had a chance to hold any of the small baldes I have a question for you all.

What would everyone's choice be for carving and whittling, and probably a decent amount of slicing. I'm thinking of something like a Cultellus, SMOG, BAD, Muskrat, Bear Cub, etc.?

I'm guessing the type of handle will make a big difference too. Thanks.

My vote is for the Cultie or BAD.

Gamewarden with a .140 thick blade would work great also.

I would say the BAD, but I have not held the Cultie. Seems like that would be a great handle for such things as well. I think for extended carving whittling etc the GW might be ok for you depending your hand size.

the cultie is the best small Busse IMO and is only one with a straight handle

Another vote for the BAD, Bear Cub Hack's are nice too, if you don't mind three finger knives.:D

I have been wanting to pick a culti up for a while for the same reason as the OP. I think it would make a great blade for those purposes.

I just picked up a Meaner Streets off the exchange as my "small" Busse. It seems like it would fit your purpose.

some pics for fun....Here's to my Cult
