I have received great feedback from customers who have bought there little axes. I heat treat the edge to Rc 58-60 leaving the body somewhat softer (I have never had the body tested for hardness but who cares?)

Forged from a 1 inch bars stock of 1084 steel
Differentially heat treated with only the cutting edge hardened
Dyed white ash handle
Handle lenth: 12 inches
Head length: 6 3/4 inches
Cutting edge: +/- 3 inches
Weight: 1pound 4 ounces
Simple leather edge cover
