One of these axes stays in a day pack in the back seat of my pickup, ready for impulsive hikes.
I forged this one from a one inch square bar of 1080 high carbon steel
Heat treated in my Paragon furnace to Rc 58-60 on the edge with a softer body
Like a good chopper knife, this axe cannot be sharpened with a file. Use a stone.
Hickory handle
Length from the butt to the top of the heads is 13 inches
Head is 6 inches long with a cutting edge of 3 inches
Simple leather edge cover
SOLD delivered to the US. My PayPal and email is gldrewknives@gmail.com
