Small camping fixed blade

You may want to check out the D.H. Russell belt knives by Grohmann. They are quite a bit less than $150.00 but don't let that fool you. Excellent all-around camping knives, but they aren't 'choppers'.

They are a Canadian knife that is well respected up here, but not as well known elsewhere (fairly easy to obtain in the US tho).

Just got my Busse Combat Basic #7 in yesterday. This is one hell of a knife. It's got the new crinkle black finish on the blade instead of the smooth. Seems like it's a more durable finish.

I have already cut througha ton of boxes, hacked through a 2x4, and dug a hole with it. The thing is still sharpe enough to shave hair off my arm. Incredible.

If you want a tough as nails knife that has the ultimate warranty go with a Busse.

I second phone_archer's sugestion of the Grohmann's. They are well made, stay sharp and reasonably priced. I,ve been carrying a #3 boat knife in S.S for three years now. Great sheath set up, swings out of the way while sitting, right there when you need it in camp, thread about 18 inches of para cord throught he belt loop and you got neck carry capabilites. "And" now, I believe you hae a choice of "flat ground" on several models including the large #4 survival knife.
