Blade: This D/A scale release auto is overall length of about 4 3/4+" with a 2 " cutting edge. Closed length is 2 3/4" The knife is signed and dated with month and year I made it. This one has been in a gallery and just returned
The fileworked damascus blade was cut and shaped from Devin Thomas damascus billets. It is shaped and surface ground to 220 grit, 2 flat ground bevels grinds, hand sanded at 220, 400, 600 and 1200 grit before heat treating and fast oil quench. Then resanded and buffed before acid etching. It is heat treated and tempered to a Rockwell 57 to 58.
Handle: Scales are mother of pearl. These scales have been sanded to a 1200 grit and buffed to a smooth finish. There are a few natural color variations in the pearl. The scale are held to the purple/blue anodized titanium liners via fileworked screws. The liners are also fileworked.
