This has been forged to shape from a piece of Craig Barr Odins Eye pattern damascus. Blade is 1-3/4 in long, 1/2 in wide and overall length is 4-1/4 inches. Approximate thickness is 3/32. Comes with a black rayskin sheath and sterling silver chain. The first holes are thru holes, the rest are just countersunk.
Price is $sold which includes shipping.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

Striper,
Thats a really neat litlle knife. I like it. I have used Craig Barr damascus on several occasions but have never been able to achieve an etching that clean. Would you care to share your secret? I can't get my black areas as black as yours without the white areas turning to mud. Incidentally I use a mixture 60-40 ferric and white vinegar, 800 finish, no buff, and alchohol cleaning. If you do not want to divulge your secrets I understand.
Thank you,
Matt Doyle

Maybe I'm dipping here, but it sounds like you're using too much acid(as in all acid) in your mix. A wise Mastersmith once told me to use a very diluted solution of ferric chloride/distilled water(maybe 25% acid) and etch multiple times, scrubbing off the oxides between etches with either a paper towel or super fine steel wool. Reason being, is with the acid being too strong, all layers of the damascus tend to etch at the same rate(not what you want).
