Small fixed blade EDC? 1075 vs 440A vs D2

Also, my friend got his Condor Fidelis today.

He said that grip is nice and comfy, he likes the paracord wrapping, edge retention is better than expected since he used it to carve and sharpen wooden sticks and it would still push cut paper and barley shave.

It took him minutes to sharpen it back to shaving sharp on water stone.

He only complained on sheath retention being too much but he solved that with sand paper. Sheath also has no rattle.

Now... I'm really tempted to get one too :D
Also, is it possible that Condor left this knife at higher HRC hardness to improve edge retention?
If it is, will 1075 still be tough enough?

1075 will be plenty tough, and Condor generally does a pretty good job on heat-treatment.
I'm just reading about it.

Condor uses 1075 a lot and they got to know that steel well it seems. Lots of people claim that Condor does awesome things with their 1075.

Where do you live? That might help people focus a little better on the knife options available to you?

Croatia (eastern part of Europe).

American knives are at least double the price they have in US.

Chinese and European brands are usually options here.

You might want to look at Manly knives out of Bulgaria. They are somewhat local to you and seem to offer really good value though, they might be a bit out of your price range considering what they cost me in the USA.

I have seen a few out of Lithuania that looked really attractive too but, most of the ones I have looked at are out of your price range.

Manly patriot would be decent choice for 50€ though. It's maybe a bit large but still nice knife.

I'm still tempted by Condor for half the price... 1075 is tough, sharpens nice and Condor seems to put good HT on them...

I have used a few paracord wrapped 'neck knife' style knives and personally like the traditional handle scales on a small fixed blade a lot more.

The Patriot model is one I have been tempted by personally. I have forgotten how many times I put it in my cart and then moved it to a 'wishlist'.

Water is less of an issue that way too. But I would put my own wooden scales on it if I bought it tho...
