Small Fixed Blade for EDC Carry in Pocket Sheath

I am pretty fond of Gene Ingram's GWB as well.

[/IMG]Here's mine; I have another Ingram on order for Dec; I may change it to another GWB with a different blade shape, but having a hard time deciding what shape. A Wharncliffe would be neat but I just the Winston in that shape. Any suggestions?

Yes, it's pigskin. Gene has the leather smooth side in, so is a little slicker out of the sheath. That's a nice knife with the mosaic pins, is it spalted or birdseye? Gene had an opening about three weeks out, I'm getting either the #1 Semi or #4 Drop Point in D2 with the antique linen micarta and a pigskin pocket sheath.

Its spalted burl. Actually, i think the GWB with a semi blade would make a nice lil deer skinning knife. OTOH, I've been looking at the Elephant Toenail as well. It should make a sweet pocket knife.

Don,
FYI, when you copy and paste the info from the IMG Code line on Photobucket, you can paste that directly onto this page. You don't need to click on the yellow box at the top of the page and paste it there. All as the box does is add
B] and [B][I]
to either side of your image. When you copy and paste from Photobucket, that html is already added. That's why you are seeing
on either side of your photo.

Thanks JB! It is extreemly popular. Wish I could take full credit, but it like so many great dedigns is from the fertal mind of Bob Loveless. It just sports a little Lovett modern theme. I am making one each for Bob Loveless and His Partner Jim Merritt. They were both rather taken with them. (YEA!) Mike

Mike, I just got my City Knife. WOW!

Folks, this is a real work of art. It is so elegant and petite, the blade is ground perfectly and is so very thin. Beautiful work, and please thank Manuela for a lovely sheath.

Best,
JB

Here's a little fixed blade I just received from Don Cowles:

OAL is 5 5/8". The Steel is CPM154. The stag is gorgeous and the size is perfect for EDC. I couldn't be happier with it.

This one was made by Texas maker Jerry Halfrich and he calls this the Jack Russell. Overall length is 6 1/8" blade is 2 1/2" on 1/8" CPM-154 stock. Brown jigged bone fastened with mosaic pins. Scabbard was made by Paul Long.

What ever knife you decide on, you owe it to yourself to get one of Paul Longs excellent pocket sheaths. They are the BEST!!

Tom

Gary, very nice. What is the "dot"? Ornamental or functional? JB

The red dot is Don's signature ruby in the ricasso, set in 18K gold. A nice little touch.

Wow I really like that Paul Long sheath! Nice knife too!

Does Paul Long have a website? My search function doesn't seem to be working today for some reason.

Gary

Nope, no website. But if you are intersted I can send you some pics of his work and his contact info tomorrow...

Tom

Well I was going to suggest a couple of makers for this type knife, but by the time I read all the way through the thread it had been covered. I have first hand knowledge on the fine quality of the Kreins (there are several in this category), the Halfrich Jack Russell and Don Cowles fine little knives. I make the sheaths for the Tom Krein, and Jerry Halfrich knives and Don does a really good job on his own sheaths. The knives are something to behold and beyond that they are all a representation of excellence.

I couldn't miss the question about my contact information. email is pfl@cebridge.net and phone is (830) 367 5536.

Take it from me folks, Paul's work is fantastic! you will in no way be disappointed. I promise. Great looking little Knife there Tom! 2toes, that halfrich looks like a real winner. Thanks so much JB. Enjoy! She is for using. and Like I said, I don't charge a cent to refinish them. So Don't hold back! Mike and Manuela
