I am interested in a very stout small fixed blade to carry IWB. I really like the looks of the Busse Mean Street, but it is out of my price range. Some of the smaller fixed blades that I already own are: REKAT Hobbit's Fang,(ATS-34 Stonwash), an Emerson LaGriffe, SOG Mini-Pentagon, and a BM Nimravus, full-size ATS-34. Thank you for your info.

John Greco..Nice knives..Check them out..

I would consider the new Simonich-REKAT Pikuni in a Sastre River City sheath. This is a great small fixed blade knife that is coming out and should be pretty affordable. You may want to ask Bob Taylor when and how much.

Some other thoughts:
Any smaller knife by Bob Dozier would be great

A Talonite Tad Pole from Allen Blade

A very affordable Kelgin knife in 440C

A Spyderco Moran drop point

A Griffith Texan or Patrolman (Texan has a shorter waiting period)

There are many others! Consider the Pikuni though.

tatsu.....You might try the Sniper by Lynn Griffith, or one of Bob Dozier's small personal models. David Ruana also forges some nice little straight knives with pouch sheaths at very affordable prices. I picked one of these up at the Oregon show a few years back for just $55.

Kanji by Rob Simonich in care of Hoods Woods at survival.com Pricey but worth it. Any of the small knives by TOPS are also nice. The price on those is very reasonable.

Anyone know of a really good small fixed blade for $50? Please post urls or pics. Thanks.

Nonbox,

Try a looking at a Falkniven WMI. Just under $50. 2&3/4" drop point blade, with VG10 steel, convex edge, option of kydex neck sheath or leather swing sheath.

Another good knife slightly more than WMI is the Spyderco Moran. The new one is a Drop point as opposed to a more trailing point original.

Greg,

A Griffith Texan or Patrolman (Texan has a shorter waiting period)

I don't understand. A "Texan" model would get made ahead of another model by Griffith?

Try the REKAT Small Utility while they are still available. (discontinued I hear) It is an excellent small fixed. 7" overall w/ 3" drop point blade and a great multi-carry kydex sheath system. I bought one and am hooked!

Try the UJI Fighter by Livesay. DON'T LAUGH!!! This knife is awesome...It is a little bigger then you would need for a utility knife, but it is tough, sharp, and the excellent kydex work by Newt makes this thing a pleasure to carry all the time..

What's more...it is only fifty bucks !!!

The Bob Dozier "Arkansas Toothpick" in his fantastic clipon IWB sheath may be just what you're looking for.Ultra strong and razor sharp, mine is a constant companion.

Tatsu,
If you do like your full sized BENCHMADE Nimravus get Nimravus Cub for IWB carry. Nice little fixed blade, very reasonable alternative for tactical folder for urban concealed carry.
Of course if this is legal in your jurisdiction...

Tatsu what ever you get make sure you get the stainless steel sheath so's not to stick anything important.

im sorry, but how do you carry IWB? laugh at me if you want.i just dont know.

BTW,you might want to look at spydercos bill moran,i think its their only fixed blade though.

Check out the D.H. Russel belt knife. You can get them from A.G. Russel or order from the makers: Grohmann's. They come in a variedt of styles and come in carbon or stainless steel (I do not know what kind of steel they are though). They are stout, have eliptical blades so are great for slicing, have great ergonomics and are relatively inexpensive (should be $50 american I think). I have a #1 in carbon and love it!! The Number #2 is a nice slim blade and easy to carry around daily (I know someone who does).

nonbox: As far as small Cold Steel knives go get a Master Hunter (a factory seconsd should save you some bucks) but I think the sheath may be a bit big- I'm not sure though. Cullodens are small and wicked piercers but more suited for light work. That new all terrain hunter may be o.k., as long as you get an after-market sheath for it.

A.G. Russell sells what he calls a fixed blade pocket knife. It is a simple affair about six inches overall with about a two inch blade. The sheath is designed to fit a pants pocket. Knife and sheath cost right around twenty dollars. The knife without sheath is around ten. I haven't checked his catalog lately so this is all to the best of my recollection.
