Small fixed blade for general outdoor use

I am hoping that I can get some suggestions on buying a new knife. I am looking for a small fixed blade knife, blade length somewhere between 2-3 inches with an overall length not too much bigger than 7". I intend to use it as daypacking knife and a general camp preparation knife. If this is the only knife I carried, it would also be good to have some bushcraft and survivability aspect. I would like the blade material to be a "super steel," something like cpm3v or 154CM. I currently own an ESEE Izula, which I like, but I was hoping to find something uncoated and oxidation resistant. I also have a GSO4.1, which I really love, but it is a little large for the more casual activities I have in mind. I would like to keep the cost below $200 if possible. It seems like there are a ton of options in BRKT, but I am not really sure which one to get and could use some advice. Also, if there are other manufactures other than BRKT which fulfill my requirements, I would be appreciative of the suggestions. Thanks!

Anza has some made of file or saw blades that are inexpensive and very effective cutters.

Thanks for the suggestions! These are all great. I was previously only looking at Bark River. I was not ware of other options, which is why I asked for advice>

The BlackJack 155 is an outstanding buy. They are made by Bark River. 3'' blade , 154CM blade steel with a convex grind for around $55. Now that's hard to beat.

BRKT Ultralite Bushcrafter. The blade is a 1/4'' over 3'' but might be worth a look. Light and in 3V.

Overall Length: 7.4 Inches
Blade Length: 3.250 Inches
Blade Steel: CPM 3V @58-60RC
Blade Thickness: .090 Inch
Weight: 2.7 Ounces

If you like your Survive GSO 4.1 why not get a Survive GSO 3.5 in CPM 3v ? It's smaller and thinner by a fiar amount by the looks of it .

I was going to suggest a 3.5 as well. Its an awesome blade

I have the fallkniven juni and kolt. Both r great knives. Dpx hest II another solid performer.

I appreciate all of the suggestions. I think that I want to keep the OA length under 7", closer to something like my izula in size. If I start going too large, I am afraid I would have a hard time finding a distinct niche for this compared to my GSO 4.1.

I personally use a Kershaw skyline fixed blade with a kydex sheath, its great for food work and any small-medium camp work. I also have a small Blind Horse Knife.

Another vote for the Bradford G3. You'll have an M390 blade and a choice of leather or kydex sheaths (or both, if you want). Other than the Bradford, I'd suggest going with something from BRKT.

There are a lot of bladesmiths out there, that can make your idea of a perfect knife come to life. I designed this one several years ago. Blade is S30V, three inches long, Camel Bone scales.
It's about as perfect as I could come up with, and I wear it often. Sheath is a pancake by Larry Parsons.

The Blackjack 155 is a good suggestion, however IMO would be better with out the almost sharp swedge.
Hang out in the custom fixed blade forum some great makers here.
