Small Fixed Blade for Girlfriend

I thought I was still in the exchange forum. I was gonna ask you to send her pic before I made an offer.

:)

Thanks for all the replies.

I'll run a few past her and see which she would like the best. I'm leaning towards the Hideaway since it's easy to retain and doesn't look like it will take much training to utilize properly.

Thanks again.

The hideaway is a great knife. They take a while to get sometimes, mine took several months. For a small fixed in the same price range, check the Knife Maker's forums here, in the For Sale section Michael "Burchtree" Burch has a few small cord-wrapped utilities for sale. He made me a horizontal belt sheath for mine, it's a great little knife, looks friendly and pretty and cuts like the dickens. :D

I also recommend the hideaway.

And would add that the company is owned and operated by the designer of the knife.....a woman. Cameron has put allot of thought into carry options as well and I would guess there is nothing better out there today for your proposed purpose.

I don't believe knives should be bought or sold for self-defence esp. where it is illegal to do so. I believe also that a person who has a knife for self defence without any training is not only a danger to themselves but others as well. It is no different to a person carrying a firearm with no training. It is a sad reflection on our society when we have to resort to such measures.

How long is too long? 6" overall? And I agree with the other that carry of a conceal fixed blade in CA is a bad idea. If she can get training I think a folder is a better idea. There are numerous sheath makers for carrying folders in many different positions. Now I will give you a list of small fixed blades just because you asked however. ;)

One suggestion that I haven't seen here is the Greco Little Dangler. This is one Hell-for-strong little knife that has been available recently for $35.00 from Jim Greco. Check out http://www.grecoknives.com/ I liked the Dangler so much that I gave one to my sister.
