Small Fixed Blade for small game and fish?

Thanks to all who commented! Very helpful. I'm going to post this question here but I'll also start a new thread. Where would you recommend purchasing a new knife over the internet? Thanks!

You could also go "old school" and pick up a Scrade Sharpfinger for less then $40 buck on eBay.

You should get most of your answers on the new thread but remember our forum on The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. People post attaboys for their favorite online stores as well as on individuals.

www.onestopknifeshop.com (AKA www.1sks.com ) has a wide selection, lots of pictures and information, fine customer service, competitive prices, and is the financial support for Bladeforums.

I have been using a Buck 102 "woodsman" for awhile and I really like it. It will work great for small game as well as deer sized animals. I suppose it will work as well for fish as any other hunting knife. I would suggest a seperate filliet knife for fish. My 2 cents.

How about a Fallkniven WM1?

For a fishing knife, the Rapala can't be beat. But I would not want to use it for a hunting knife. For a very good dependable CHEAP knife I would go with the Buck Woodsman mentioned above or my favorite the Buck 105 Pathfinder. It can be had for $50 or a little less online. Later on, if you are so inclined and know what you want, you can buy a more expensive knive but I bet you will still use the Buck.
