Those are some nice looking knives... I really like the pocket hippo and the fireant. I can't find the firearnt on his web site though.

Thank you!! The Fireant is on the second or third page of Mr. May's.
The Pocket Hippo is a Gene Ingram.

It's absolutely A1 Quality. I have three of their products, and each gets a huge Thumbs Up from me.

For a pocket-sized fixed blade, here's what I carry, the AG Russell Hunters Scalpel. It's been discontinued, but a new updated version is in the works. Approximate price, $20.

Bob, I have one of the first prototype HS2 waiting for you, call or email

I have five Bark Rivers - below you will see them from L-R, with a BM Snody (D2) #201 Activator+ first, the Huntsman, Fox River, Gameskeeper, '07 LE North Star, and '07 TUSK. The BRs are all A1 quality - and of A2 steel - all but the '07 LE North Star are in basic Micarta - very functional users. You bet you can get them more dressed up - but they all have the same convex ground shaving sharp blade. The Benchmade is okay, but mine came 'barely sharp' - nearly as much a dissappointment as my old Grip of 440C steel was. Both were sharpened, of course - with a Spydie Sharpmaker and an old mousepad hone/strop loaded with Semichrome. The BRs were just delivered nearly perfect - better than most 'customs' I've seen, too.

nice knives stainz, im pretty fond of the le northstar, i think i will try one on so to speek. i like my benchmade, plus it was free, cant beat that. from whay yall are saying the bark river are top notch, thats good to know. i dont much care for the doctored up info you can get on websites, real world experince beats it hands down. gene ingram forged the blade on the knive im waitin for, cant wait to get it.

Did A.G. say he was going to post those new pics? Did I miss them?
No, I don't believe he's posted any photos of the new Hunters Scalpel - I would have certainly remembered.

A.G. did send an e-mail and photo a while back, I believe a CAD-rendered image of the new design. I'll post the image if he says it's OK - don't want to spoil any corporate secrets or anything. :)

Or maybe it's best left as a surprise?

Here's what lives in my pocket daily, Bark River Blackwater boot knife. Nice pointy profile, sharp, and even fairly sheeple acceptable.
