Small Fixed blade suggestions

I've never seen that Boker Pocket Bowie until now, but wow...I like it. There is so many great little fixed blades out there for many different tasks. You could always get a custom made.

If you decide to go custom, you should know that the Boker is based on Tom Krein's Pocket Bowie. Tom got his start with AG Russell and Bob Dozier but has established his own style. He has many alternatives in that size range:

Indeed, and thanks for the info. Tom Krein's stamp is on the Boker's blade.

Have you taken a look at the Chris Reeve Professional Soldier? It's a handy knife that is only a little bigger than an Izula, but packs a much bigger blade. I really like mine.

Here are some comparison shots with some relatively common folders:

The blade length is actually only a tad shorter than a Military's.

Awesome looking blade, too bad the sheath doesn't allow for aftermarket scales or wraps.

I have a ESEE 3 and it is easily worth the $100 bucks. You can spend a lot more for the same type of knife, but you won't get much more for your money.

ESEE 3, Gryphon M10, Izula II, Izula, BK11, BK14, Many Busse and Bussekin, maybe custom fixed from makers, Spyderco Mules, Benchmade NimCubII, Benchmade Activators, many Blackjack knives such as the 155, and again - to reiterate - custom makers can really offer just about anything.

Check out Justin King, Pohan Leu, Mark Goldsworthy, Charlie Mike, JW Knives, Mitchell Knives, Alan Davis, or a million other names on the forums. Lots of talent here.

It would be pretty easy to cut/sand/grind the sheath so that it didn't overlap the knife so much. I've been thinking about getting another sheath made for pocket carry, and keeping that one for when I want to strap it to a pack.

Bark river mini Canadian 3V. If you want something a touch larger the mini Fox River is great too. Honestly though, I never carry my fox because it is just a touch too big to EDC. The Canadian is perfect for me in a custom kydex sheath by mashed cat. Great rig.

I really love my Busse Magnum Bear Cub - INFI steel. Great little cutter and feels great in the hand.
