I am thinking about going to a small fixed blade knife for carrying on a belt sheath for edc. You folks want to provide me with some suggestions for something of the sort for under $70. I am not picky about the steel and would prefer something that is not a push dagger. I would prefer something with a more utilitarian look.

Izula by ESEE, or the Scrapivore by Scrapyard Knives. Both are decent steel, and the Scrapivore even has a prybar on the end for uh prying.

How about the Boker Pocket bowie? I have been wanting one for some time. The reviews also seams positive.

The one issue with the Scrapivore is that the prybar may cause a hotspot if your have big palms. Not an issue for quick tasks but it wouldn't be my first choice for extended use. The Izula on the other hand is very comfortable, as is the Izula 2.

I have been told the Izula 2 fits larger hands better, any truth to this? I think the difference in length between the Izula and Izula 2 is not really important. I like the pocket bowie but it is hard to consider it in the wake of the Izula's reputation.

I have the CS Mini Hunter and don't recommend it, because it's too small. I'm keeping it to give it to my 5 year-old daughter for her first knife, and I worry it might be too small--if that gives you any idea. Nice little knife though.

While I prefer the ESEE 3, I've given the Izula 2 to my wife and an older daughter, and it is a very nice knife that is quite comfortable in the hand. That's the way I'd go, if I wanted a blade that small.

I use an Izula as my EDC but as a camp knife the Izula II would be better as it has a longer handle with scales for more comfort . HOWEVER , if you can wait a little Scrap Yard has a series of knives called the 11 . They have the 511 and 711 available at the moment , but have announced that the next offering will be the 311 and it will sell for $69 directly from them . It will use SR-101 steel and carry their lifetime warrantee .

I have both the Izula and Izula 2 and have large hands, @ 5 in. wide, and the Izula 2 is a little better in my hand with scales on it.

Izula 2 will accommodate even huge hands. But if you are wearing it on your belt maybe you can get away with an ESEE 3 or 4. I drop the izula 2 into a front pocket and it disappears. It works but sometimes when I whip it out I feel a little inadequate.

The 2 is bigger and has better purchase for sure. Great little blades and they have another small blade coming..or is it out already?

What's interesting is that I find the handle on the Izula 2 more comfy then the ESEE 4. I highly recommend the Izula 2. One of the best little blades out there IMO.

Major difference in that 1/2 inch. I gave away my izula and have 2 izula 2's.
