Small fixed blade

RAT 3. I've had several Bark Rivers; they have all been slippery and hard to hold for me. The RAT is razor sharp, and in a good kydex sheath. Good buy for the $. Bill

How about this or one of the other small knives in the TOPS line up...they have a lot, check out the TOPS website!!!!

I actually ALMOST got this one...

Probably be my next purchase, I like the black coating and the sheath. Very slim profile.

I also loked at the RAT3, but being almost 8" kind of turned me away. It looks alot beefier/sturdier than some of these knives...but my main goal *this time* was small size. There will be a time for everything though :p

lol that is pretty funny looking :P Looks like a good neck knife, but that edge right above the finger groove might cause some unwanted poking.

over the past few years i have grown to like a small fixed blade for EDC... and long since have aquired a fairly nice collection...:D

i am a big fan of bark river knives... i have about 8, i think...they make some great EDC knives for the $$$.... check out the PSK, mikro-canadian and little creek.... :D

another small, hard working fixed blade is the becker necker.....

here's a pic of some fairly recent purchases....

I just ordered a Bark River Mini Canadian (slightly larger than the mikro) with an attractive curly maple handle from knivesrus.com for $66 bucks. Not a bad price, as far as I can tell. I plan to try it as an edc and maybe get a Russell Woodswalker pocket sheath for it.

you're going to love it... the mini ia an awesome knife... i have one in blaze ornage g-10.... it might be a tad big for the WW sheath.... give it a try, if it works i might have to get one myself or make one....

Not exactly mini knives but a Burchtree blade(I have the Cashmere) and Burt Foster blue collar hunter. With the horizontal sheath from either maker I've carried knives of slightly less than 8 inches quite comfortably.

I've never handled G-10. Is it jsut as "cold and slippery" as micarta? I found an orange G-10 for $68.

If I can't find anything I'm going with the ivory one like yours from DLTtradingcompany.com liek you mentioned. But I REALLY like those mosaic pins you have! I want those! haha

For Bark River Knives, you might also want to check knifeworks.com, sagecreekoutfitters.com, and McKnight Cutlery (google it). These three and DLT are all really good with Bark River knives. Larry at DLT is great, and will work with you and Mike Stewart of BRKT to get you exactly the knife you want.

Some of the other internet dealers will post prices for BRKT knives that they may or may not have in stock. If you order from one of them, it's best to call before you order to make sure you can actually get the knife you want.

For more info, you might want to check the BRKT forum at the "other forum". Lotsa info there.;)

I'm a big fan of smaller blades, could you give us a rundown of what yours are in the pic !:D

I have a few custom Anza knives in the 3-4" range which are excellent;
didn't pay more than maybe 80 bucks for any of them.

The Benchmade Snody for about 90 bucks is another really good buy IMO

DLT has the Knives of Alaska Alpha Wolf in "Suregrip" (Micarta) handle
for a very reasonable price. Available in D2 or S30V.

And the Bark River knives are great as everyone has been saying...

I own a few Bark Rivers as well. The 'Micro' models are a bit small for me. The one I prefer is the Blackwater Boot Knife. Mine has a Black Micarta grip, hollow ground and is stainless 12C27. It is a small knife and proportionally compact. The sheath is the only bit I don't really care for.

Thanks for the info !

Well I just got my Mikro Canadian, and so far am loving it! It's actually smaller than I was thinking, but it is many times better for belt carry than my Buck FB.

On the right side of the blade it says, "1ST PRODUCTION RUN". Is this marked on all the Mikro's? I would take a picture but I killed my laptop and have yet to fix it...I'll try to upload it to this computer when I can.

The ivory handles are great, very smooth and they do have that "grip" that was mentioned. Actually more grip than my wood handle Buck's. The sheath is equally impressive, very hard and thick. Got it on my belt as I type. The knife sits very snug in the slot and I don't have to bother with a clip or button to un-sheath it. Just a little tug and it's out!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I plan to continue purchasing small FB's and adding to the collection. The Mikro Canadian is a great pick for anyone interested in the same criteria I had, I couldn't be happier. Money well spent.

EDIT: Well now that I go back to page 1 I see Arathols' is also marked "1ST PRODUCTION RUN". HAHA, answered my own question.
