Does anyone know of any folder that locks closed and open? I would prefer a blade smaller then 3 inches, but if it is around 3 inches that would be fine.

Kershaw leek does I know... or scalion maybe? it is smaller of the 2 but the leek is pretty small ..

You could always get an auto (Microtech Mini UMS at 2.5" springs to mind) and remove the spring. There's lots of 2" autos out there. However, if autos are illegal in your area, it's possible that a springless auto might still be classified as a gravity knife (although tighting the pivot so 2 hands are required might work). Or there's the Benchmade Benchmite if you don't mind not having a clip (fits great in the coin pocket of your jeans though).

i think GT knives that are manual lock open and closed FWIW, and ya can get manual ones cheap too.

Kershaw Chive locks closed, as do the Scallion and Leek. There may be other assisted openers by Ken Onion and/or Kershaw that lock closed also.

The Black Out assisted opener does not lock closed. And there are others that are like the Black Out in that regard. I think the Avalanche, and some others don't lock closed either. Most of the ones with the little "flipper" on them like the Leek, Scallion and Chive have the locks for closing the blade for safety reasons because that flipper can be bumped in the pocket by something else you are carrying or from just lifting your leg to get into the car or something like that when other things you have in your pocket can hit it just right to flick it opened.

Twitch 2 and Scallion both lock closed. Both are assisted openers. Twitch 2 is 2.6" blade and Scallion is 2.25" blade. I think the Twitch 2 has a better safety switch.

Kershaw boa has a lock on it. But, I think it's 3.4 , so never mind! How about the Mini Mojo? It's stud lock is supposed to help keep it in the locked position.(Or so I have read....)
