Small folders with decently sized handles

My Father has the Maxamet Native. Awesome knife indeed. The old man also has a sweet Caly 3.5.

My daily carry is an M4 with smoothed g10. I think the original blade on it was cruwear, a previous owner swapped the blade out. I've had several different ones over the years and have settled on the M4 one for daily carry and a native salt for a workout knife. The native salt has been on many bicycle rides and trimmed back many vines around the mtb trails.

Oh yeah, the Salt is great choice for a workout carry. Don’t have experience with M4 yet though.

Modern knives have some of the most awkward handles it's often hard for me to imagine anyone using them for any length of time. I wear an XL glove (my wrists are 9.25" diameter) and I carry mostly old fashioned slipjoints because they feel good in my hand and are very useful with the smaller blades that get used the most. You don't need to carry around a knife the size of a hammer handle for a 2" blade. Anyone who carves will tell you it's about comfort and fit on a tool you're actually going to use. And you use small blades. You'll open 100,000 packages or letters for every time you may need it for defense. And from experience I can tell you it's easier to skin a critter with a smaller knife than with a big one.

Take a good look at a traditional swayback pattern. Something like this will give you two blades under 3" in a package 2/3 the size of a Sebenza and it will fit your hand. Case makes a very nice one if you want to try without spending a lot of money.

Beautiful knife there. Those knives will never go out of style. The neutral grip is also nice.

I find that full-sized modern folders work for me best. The Manix 2 is just about perfect. The Para 3 is a hair away from being too small but still plenty comfortable.

Hey everyone. Bought a Civivi Mini Bullmastiff after being impressed with the Praxis. The Mini has a broad blade but fairly short in terms of blade length. I’ll see about ergonomics once it arrives.
