The NY warnings are on Trumark's website so I doubt they will be sending you anything with a wrist brace on it. My Uncle Eugene lives in Schenactady. Hope I spelled it correctly. I have not seen him since my Dad died in 1982, Dad and I went up there a couple years before he died and it was some of the most beautiful country, really a stunning place.
Too bad it's controlled by a city of idiots, just like Maryland...just like Illinois. Entire states controlled by morons, racists and terrified idiots.
Non-braced slingshots are a bit harder to learn and you have to have more wrist and forearm strength but that's easily handled in a few weeks. Lots of practice.
If someone told me they had a body or head shot on small game and it did not die from lead or steel balls launched from a wrist-rocket, I would be amazed.
Some game can "jump the arrow" or "jump the string" of a bow, you get the same thing with the tubing or flat bands of a slingshot...sometimes. Steel will give you a bit of an edge over that happening as the steel is a tad bit faster but terminally speaking, lead or steel will both kill small game. .50 Cal. / 1/2 inch diam. or slightly larger is excellent ammunition. White marbles and relatively round rocks are also killers.
If you're serious about using them for survival, get a hawk call and take it out and learn to use it. When you can make a rabbit freeze in his tracks, you have learned to use a hawk call. Stick it out of the opposite side of your mouth, obviously, from the pouch anchor area, unless you want to put your Dentist's kids through college.
